GENERAL ASSISTANCE NOTICE

The municipality of Randolph administers a General Assistance program for residents experiencing financial difficulties to meet their basic needs.

Pursuant to Title 22 M.R.S.A. subsection 4305, the municipal officers have adopted an Ordinance establishing that program. A copy of this Ordinance is available for public inspection here or at the Town Office. Also available for inspection is a copy of the State’s General Assistance Statutes, as copies of the State law are made available to the municipality by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

Persons who wish to apply for General Assistance may do so at the Randolph Town Office during the following days and times:

Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

In the event of an EMERGENCY, occurring outside normal Town Office business hours, applicants may contact Greg Lumbert, Randolph Police Chief at (207) 592-7073.

The municipality’s General Assistance Administrator must issue a written decision regarding eligibility to applicants within 24 hours of receiving an application. The Department of Health and Human Services toll-free number to call with questions regarding the General Assistance program or to report alleged violations is 1-800-442-6003. This notice is posted pursuant to Title 22 M.R.S.A. subsections 4304 & 4305.
